Join us as we welcome Mike Miller to talk about the importance of aquatic insects in our trout streams.

 

Mike Miller is a stream ecologist with the Department of Natural Resource’s, Bureau of Water Quality in Madison. He works on watershed assessment, and statistical designs for stream monitoring and data interpretation. Current studies include a statewide survey of streams and rivers in conjunction with the U.S. EPA’s National Rivers and Streams Assessment, assessing impacts of neonicotinoid insecticides on aquatic invertebrates, and using drones to evaluate stream habitat and aquatic invasive species.

 

Mike teaches stream ecology and watershed management  at UW Madison, is a co-author of Field Guide to Wisconsin Streams, and considers the Driftless Area his home waters.
