Idaho TUers convene in Pocatello
The Idaho Council of Trout Unlimited convened in Pocatello on Saturday, June 1, for its annual spring meeting. The council--including chapter leaders from Twin Falls, Boise, Pocatello, Sandpoint and Sun Valley--meets twice a year to discuss TU work all over the state.
After a morning of meetings, the council will tour the Pebble Creek project on the upper Portneuf River. TU national staff and volunteers from the Southeast Idaho Fly Fishers chapter of TU (based in Pocatello) are working reconnect Pebble Creek with the mainstem Portneuf and give native Yellowstone cutthroat trout access to spawning and rearing habitat in Pebble Creek.
The end result, of course, will be better fishing in Pebble Creek, and in the Portneuf River--today, and for generations to come.
